Abstract

The aim of this presentation will be to will bring together the experience of quality monitoring of long term care analysed in the case studies analysed in the forthcoming book 'Regulating long-term care quality: An international comparison' by Mor et al. It will highlighting similarities, differences, challenges and trends.

The aim is to also provide a summary of the patterns such as developing regulations, inspecting prospective providers to determine whether they conform to the regulations and subsequently monitoring their on going adherence. Drawing on the case studies’ analysis of successes and failures, this study will attempt to identify best practice for policy makers.
